Apple & Intel

January 11, 2006 – 12:10 pm

Apple last year announced their switch from IBM PowerPC chip to Intel chip for their computing product line. On January 10th, Steve Jobs announced the release of the iMac and the newly named MacBook Pro (previously Powerbook), both running on the new Intel Core Duo processors.

The keynote speech can be accessed at Apple’s Macworld site.

The announcement also includes various new products and upgrades to existing products. One of which that really interests me is the upgrade of the entire Apple product line over to the new Intel Core Duo chips. Hoping to get myself a Intel based Mac Mini as it is released over the coming year.

Apple products have known to set the bar high, and this proves it again that they really care about giving the customers best value for their money. This would be a good time to make the switch to Apple or atleast start considering it.

Apple, here I come….
