Open Source Apps
January 27, 2006 – 1:32 amHere are two resources that I came across reading through an InfoWorld article. These links are good resource for Open Source Applications that are available freely for the general public. Notably few can also act as replacements for your existing costly licensed applications.
What’s the catch? Use at your own risk though. I almost never had any issues with downloading, installing and using open source applications, but there are certain few people who argue that open source applications are not as reliable as their paid counterpart.
Download and give these applications and try and see how they turn out. You have a choice, choice to pay a ridiculous amount for costly licenses and yearly upgrades, or take the path of adopting freely available software that is just as good (in some cases better - Thunderbird, Firefox, Linux).
Keep it free!
