Motorola HS850

Motorola HS850 (Black)Last thursday while in Atlanta, I got my hands on this new toy. Turns out it works with a lot more applications than just mobile phones. Over the weekend I was able to configure it to work with telephony applications such as Skype, Cisco VoIP Phone, Windows Mobile 5.0 powered PDA, and a Blackberry. Pairing the device is very easy, and it can be paired at any given time to atleast 8 devices. Not sure what scenario would call for this, but it is good to know just in case the need arises. The model that I used wasn’t the black one in the picture, but the silver/blue version.

The range on it is pretty good as well, while talking to a friend through Skype I was able to walk around freely across the condo and there was no loss of signal and the voice quality was just as clear. The same thing happened when I used it with the Cisco VoIP software that my employer provides for us, this takes wireless to a whole new dimension. Now I can actually use the VoIP phone and roam about while attending conference calls and not have to be stuck in front of the computer.

Cheers!
