HBR on Leadership
January 4, 2007 – 11:14 pmHarvard Business Review is a magazine that I subscribe to, and they have published a special issue titled “The Tests of a Leader”. This issue is really mind blowing. It shows you aspects of leadership in real life and what true leaders are made of. Some of the real-life examples they provide are stories from CEO’s and Managers who have proven themselves to be great leaders in their line of work, whether it be a multi-national company or a small division within a company.
Anyone (like me) who aspires to be a visionary and a great leader, should definitely pick up this issue and read it inside out. The worse you can do is learn some interesting aspects of what your CEO, or your manager, or your supervisor, or even you should do to be a great leader.
No matter how great of a person you are, if you can empower those that work alongside or under you, you have proven yourself to be a true leader. This doesn’t just apply to a work environment, but over all in every stage of life we are placed in similar roles. And it isn’t enough to just come out a winner yourself, but to have enriched and assisted others in their growth as professionals and successful human beings.
Cheers!
