The Toronto Football Club (TFC) played their first home game of the 2009 season on April 4th, 2009. The game was played at BMO Field in Toronto. Toronto FC players had a big challenge in front of them. Brutal weather conditions that included strong winds from the north-west as well as temperature that was considerably cold was one of the challenges faced by the TFC players. The main challenge however was a fully prepared and ready Seattle Sounders players and team.
The TFC players simply did not perform as was expected. There is absolutely no excuse. They had several opportunities to score, however some players were dumb founded. When the ball was near to them, they stood there trying to figure out what to do. Come on boys, you guys are professional players. And you’ve played pretty well for the past two seasons.
I know that this is the 3rd game of the season and the season is still young. But, I sure hope that this is not going to be a game to set expectations. Hopefully, the REDS are able to do a much better job when they play Dallas FC next week at home.
